Our Laboratory

Quality Assurance to the Max! In-house Laboratory

Picture
Our in-house lab is an advanced technology analytical laboratory with cutting-edge equipment. We provide expert chemical analyses of incoming raw materials as well as all finished products, including the analysis of minerals, vitamins, botanical, herbal and phyto-chemicals. Our lab participates in National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Dietary Supplement Laboratory Quality Assurance Program (DSQAP) studies for trace metals, minerals, vitamins and other active ingredients in nutraceuticals.

All analytical procedures are fully documented for GMP compliance needs. We use validated analytical methods from industry accepted sources including FDA, EPA, USP, AOAC, ASTM. Additionally, we have experienced method development and validation chemists on staff.

Our Equipment Includes:
Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) - Helps identify non botanical raw materials compared to a reference standard to ensure purity and authenticity.

Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) - This can detect metals and non-metals at very low concentrations as low as one part per quadrillion (PPQ).  This is used for testing mineral content of raw materials and finished products as well as testing heavy metals to meet prop 65 requirements.

BioLumix rapid microbial testing platform - Used for testing raw materials and finished products for microbial contamination. Test results are typically completed in 48 hours rather than five days using the conventional methods.

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) - A analytical chemistry technique used to separate, identify, and quantify each component in a mixture. Used for identity testing, quantifying raw materials and testing finished products to ensure they meet label claim.

High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) - HPTLC is an entire concept that includes a widely standardized methodology based on scientific facts as well as the use of validated methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis of botanicals to ensure we exceed industry standards.

Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) - A versatile instrument with numerous applications which includes pesticides testing;  botanicals are tested for pesticides to confirm quality and safety.
